Every student has gifts worth discovering, strengths worth developing, and a future worth investing in. Those gifts do not all emerge at the same time, in the same way, or in the same educational setting.
I am an educator, educational leader, strategist, and parent. Throughout my career, I have helped learners, families, educators, and organizations understand complex challenges, identify meaningful options, and turn thoughtful ideas into practical solutions.
My experience spans special education, student support, educational assessment, college and career pathways, online and competency-based education, institutional leadership, and educational innovation.
My work begins with a simple belief: Educational decisions should be built around the student—not the system.
Success does not mean helping every student reach the same destination. It means understanding the whole student—their strengths, challenges, needs, interests, goals, and circumstances—and helping them find a path where they can learn, grow, and use their unique gifts.
Through Resilient Resource, I help families move beyond overwhelm, ask better questions, understand their options, and make educational decisions with greater clarity and confidence.

Diane Longhurst Johnson, PhD
Diane Longhurst Johnson (Dr. Diane J) is an educator, educational leader, strategist, and parent with extensive experience helping learners, families, educators, and organizations navigate complex educational challenges.
She holds a PhD in Education from Utah State University, a Master of Science in Special Education from Brigham Young University, a Bachelor of Science in Special Education from Utah State University, and a Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Assessment from James Madison University.
Through Resilient Resource, Diane helps families understand the whole student, explore meaningful educational options, and move forward with greater clarity and confidence.
